These four 4mm. scale metal kits for LNWR 57ft. Non-Corridor Suburban/Interdistrict/Excursion carriages were produced by 51L/Chowbent (Chowbent range purchased by 51L). They are contained in original boxes all in very good condition. The kits will make up the following models:
2 x D.333 Brake Third Class carriages; 1 x D.283 Third Class carriage; 1 x D.176 Composite carriage.
The kits represent the final LNWR non-corridor designs. Prototypically, these carriages were outshopped from 1913 until 1924, with withdrawals commencing in the 1950’s – most had gone by 1959.
We are not able to guarantee all parts are present, and one of the D.333 kits has been started, but generally, the kits have aluminium extruded roofs, etched brass sides & ends, bogie castings, LNWR Spencer carriage buffers (with springs), brass & whitemetal details and nuts/bolts, sheeting for carriage floors & compartment walls. Wheels, couplings, glazing, transfers and paints of choice will be required. Two of the kits will require some interior seating.
There is a set of notes prepared by Philip Millard covering history, liveries, stock numbers, parts schedules and construction.
