Description
7mm. scale ex. LSWR 20T. Brakevan in “Meiros” Colliery condition and livery scratch-built by Peter Callon. This new model is running as Meiros No. 1 in the colliery of that name in the Rhondda Valley, South Wales. It is in weathered condition with “Haywood” sprung buffers and 3-link couplings. It is running on “Wizard” 3-hole disc wheelsets and is fitted with a “Walsall” compensation unit.
The model depicts one of a batch of brakevans built in 1914 by outside contractors to a 1907 LSWR design ansd supplied to the MOD. At the end of WW1 they were sold off and bought by various companies (including the LSWR!). GOG member Derek Mundy, Welsh railways expert, kindly undertook the research for this vehicle. Purpose-made storage/transport box.
