This 7mm. finescale BR(E) Peppercorn Class A1 4-6-2 tender engine number 60157 “Great Eastern” in lined brunswick green livery with late crest was built & painted by Graham Varley from the David Andrews etched kit. This new locomotive is in very quiet, powerful running order being fitted with the MSC MT Helical 3-Stage Gearbox powered by a Canon motor, with Slater’s wheelsets throughout. Centre Driving axle is sprung, as are both leading & trailing bogies & the centre axles of the tender. The valvegear detailing & accuracy has been enhanced by fitting replacement Laurie Griffin parts. Buffers & scale couplings are sprung. The glazed cab is highly detailed with backhead, crew seating, hinged cab doors & fallplate. The drawbar is semi-permanently coupled. There is real coal to the tender.
