This scratchbuilt BR(S) (Ex early LSWR) Signalbox was built & painted by Peter Callon. The prototype for this model was built prior to the introduction of the Type 1 Box in 1873. The base of the box up to window sill level was built from dressed stone with a timber superstructure above this. The box was extended at some stage with one slope of the hipped roof brought down to cover the entrance door & landing.
The model has a detailed interior including a 24 lever frame & lighting (connector block inside the locking room). It has sliding glazed window frames & is finished in British Railways Southern Region green & cream paintwork.
