This 4mm. finescale BR (Ex.MR/LMS) Class 3F 0-6-0 tender locomotive fleet number 43245 (shedplate code 14C – St. Albans 1950’s) satin finish plain black livery with early crest was built from the Alan Gibson etched brass & nickel silver kit. Powered by a Portescap motor/gearbox, the model is in good running order and little-used condition. The leading Gibson wheelsets to both locomotive and tender are beam compensated and both sets of buffers are sprung. The tender has real coal and there is a brass wire coupling loop in addition to the scale coupling. The cab floor has a hinged extension over the coupling with the tender, and there are two crew figures and a detailed firebox backplate. There are front & rear facing lamp brackets and vacuum pipework, and the locomotive has full brakegear and sanding equipment detailing. The locomotive has the original Gibson kit box in excellent condition for storage and transport and the Gibson manual is still present.
