Description
This 7mm. scale GWR 6 wheel 10T. Siphon Diagram O.5 Lot 1039 fleet number 1629 has been built from the Cooper/Craft/Slater’s kit or WEP/Walsall Model Industries Kit. Prototypically, the vehicle was built 11/03 and condemned in March 1946. It had the 7ft. 6in. high body which accommodated the stacking of fish crates or barrels one upon the other (the original height of these siphons already provided for stacking milk churns). These siphons were fitted with both vacuum and Westinghouse brakes. The model has Slater’s Mansell wheelsets mounted in the articulated etched brass subframes. Buffers are nof sprung but the screw couplings have springs. The vehicle has a number of milk churns fixed to the floor.
