Description
This live steam Gauge One GWR 4-6-0 1000 Class 4-6-0 Tender Locomotive “County of Hereford” fleet number 1017 was built by Martin Sheridan with a four-axle tender. The prototype locomotive was built and named in March 1946 with single chimney. The livery is immediate post war.
The model locomotive is previously owned and used. In addition to the water tank (fitted with hand pump), the tender has a spirit tank, whilst the locomotive firebox is fitted for coal – the coal firing grate packaged separately ready for fitting along with the blast blowers. Currently, there are no fire irons included with the locomotive. This is a versatile locomotive and full of character. There is some superficial paint damage, and restoration attention will be required to some of the fine detailing. A wooden storage/transport box is available.
