Description
This new 7mm. scale BR(Ex.LMS/HR) 37′ 9″ Passenger Brake Van fleet number M 33691 in heavily weathered LMS livery is scratchbuilt by Peter Callon. The model is fitted with “Easybuild” steel coach wheelsets, “JPL” vacuum cylinder, “Invertrain” sprung buffers, “Sidelines” screw couplings and vacuum pipes, and “Cavalier” dynamo.
The prototype vehicle survived into the 1950s, but is unlikely to have been repainted by BR. After WW1 the Highland Railway was short of Passenger Brake Vehicles, and three redundant post ofice mail vans originally built around 1889 on 6-wheel underframes were converted to PBVs in 1919 at Lochgorm works.
