Description

This 7mm. scale BR(M) Johnson Class 3F tender locomotive fleet number 43762 in plain black livery with early crest was built from Eric Underhill brass kits by David Kenton. Prototypically the locomotive was built to the Johnson design as a Class 2, with a 2950 gallon tender, subsequently updated to Class 3F classifaction, with Belpaire boiler and Fowler cab re-build. The model is in running order with Slater’s wheels and Mashima motor/gearbox, and in little-used condition. It is very well built and finished, with some suberb detailing. The cab backhead detailing is excellent, with full panel glazing and fixed fall-plate. The tender has centre axle compensation and buffers to front and rear are sprung, as is the good quality screw coupling. The locomotive front buffers and screw coupling are sprung. The model is fitted with sprung pick-ups, fully detailed inside motion (non-working), machined coupling rods and well detailed brake gear.
