Description
This 7mm. scale Caledonian Railway D.8 Horsebox fleet number 46 in the purple-brown Caledonian varnished livery is built/painted by Derek Mundy from the etched brass kit developed by Derek from the original Sprat & Winkle/Metropolitan/London Road Models kit. The model is running on Mansell wheelsets, one of which has a compensated cradle. The buffers have cross-chassis wire springing, and the couplings are joined by one longitudinally mounted rod incorporating a spring. The underfloor detailing is to a very high standard. The glazed groom’s compartment has a red material covered bench seat, chequered red floor covering and internal partition. Roof detailing is comprehensive and includes trumpet ventilators.
