Description
This 7mm. scale GWR Dia.P7 12T. Ballast Hopper Wagon fleet number 40966 in weathered grey livery was built from the Southwark Bridge Models brass kit (cat.7085). The partially built hopper was completed and finished by John Jarvis for Terry Smith in the “Reading Engineers Signal & Permanent Way Department” livery. It is branded “Return to Reading”. The model is running on 3′ 1″ 10 spoke wheelsets. Buffers and couplings are sprung. The prototype was built in 1893 being one of a total of 420. The hoppers were converted to 20T. vehicles in 1902.
