Description
This 7mm. scale London South Western Railway D.1085 Short Horsebox fleet number 5694 in Varnished Brown livery with dull satin finish was built and painted by Derek Mundy utilising the MSE etched brass kit. The horsebox is fitted with dual braking to the Mansell wheelsets, one of which is compensated. The Groom’s Compartment is glazed, fitted with bench seat and inner partition. Buffers and couplings are sprung. The underfloor detailing is to a very high standard including vacuum tank.
Prototype vehicles were built in1902 and remained in service until post WWII, some lasting until early 1950s.
