Description

This 7mm. scale Manning Wardle F Class 0-4-0ST fleet number 7 was designed and built by Michael Edge at the request of Terry Smith. The prototype locomotive was built in 1896 (works number 1159) in Leeds at Manning Wardle’s Hunslet works to the order of the Wantage Tramway, where it hauled freight and passengers between Wantage and Wantage Road Station on the GWR Main Line (Mill Street). The tramway was closed to passengers on 1 August 1925, and to goods traffic on 22 December 1945. The locomotive is now based on the Festiniog Railway.

The front axle of the model has cross-chassis compensation.
