Description
This 7mm. scale late (built from 1906 and designed by Bain) Midland Railway D.401 Horsebox fleet number 39 was built by Derek Mundy (signed on underside) from the etched brass kit. The model is in smooth good running order and fitted with Mansell wheelsets – one wheelset cradle is compensated. Buffers and couplings are sprung, the groom compartment has blue fabric fitted bench seat and an inner full height partition. These late horseboxes are fitted with side-hinged upper doors to the horse compartment.
